What happens, hour by hour

Most families rely on one person who knows where everything is. If that person is suddenly unavailable, everyone else is left locked out of their own lives.

Break-Glass emergency access is on the Legacy plan

  • You choose in advance which members, information and reports each Trusted Contact could see.
  • Access is read-only, and any Family Owner can revoke it at any time.
  • After a refusal, the same contact has to wait 24 hours before asking again.
  • A Trusted Contact has to turn on two-step verification before they can ask, so ask yours to set it up now.

Three things, held together

A password manager or a document app can do part of this. The vault keeps your family’s life organised, reachable in an emergency, and ready for what comes after.

  1. Organised today

Every record and file, for every member, in one place, with a reminder before it lapses.

    • Money: financial accounts, what you own and what you owe.
    • Paperwork: documents, property papers and insurance policies, with their files.
    • Home and health: vehicles, subscriptions, utilities, addresses and medical records.
    • Reminders: by email and in the app, before something expires.

  2. Reachable in an emergency

Invite the people you trust, and decide now what they could see if you ever can’t answer. On the Legacy plan, they can ask for it, and the clock decides.

  3. Ready for what comes after

The hardest part of losing someone shouldn’t be finding their paperwork. Write down what your family would otherwise have to ask you.

    • Life Book: answer in your own time, and we file the PDF in your vault. Your family can’t see it until a finalised succession.
    • Last Will: draft it privately. It isn’t legal advice, and our templates are still awaiting a lawyer’s review, so don’t rely on one as legally valid.
    • Continuity: regular check-ins that notice if you ever go quiet.

Questions families ask

How secure is my data?

All traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and you can add two-factor sign-in to any account. Every request is checked against your role on the server, and each family’s data is kept separate. Passwords you save for your accounts are encrypted with AES-256 on our servers, and your own sign-in password is stored only as a one-way hash.

Can you read my records?

Your records aren’t end-to-end encrypted: our systems can read them so they can search, show and remind you about them. We don’t sell your personal information, and the service providers we use are listed in our Privacy Policy. We haven’t yet completed a third-party security audit, and we aren’t SOC 2 certified.

What does emergency access actually do?

On the Legacy plan, a Trusted Contact can ask for the information you chose for them. Every Family Owner is told at once, and any one of you can say no within 48 hours. Nobody can approve early. If nobody says no, read-only access starts automatically for 7 days, and any Family Owner can revoke it at any time.

Who in my family can see what?

Family Owners and Administrators can see and manage the family’s records. Family Members see their own, and what’s shared with them. Trusted Contacts can’t reach your records unless you’ve shared them or an emergency request goes through.

What happens if I stop paying?

When a plan expires, the family is locked out of every feature except renewing or changing plan. You can renew for a limited time after that, and it continues from the expiry date, charging each missed period. After that, the family has to register again. Emergency access depends on this too: once a lapsed plan’s grace period ends and the family’s account is deactivated, a Trusted Contact can no longer ask. If you’re the one who pays, make sure someone else can renew.

Can I get my data out?

You own your data. On the Family Guardian and Legacy plans, you can export it as CSV or Excel files. You can also close your account at any time.

How do reminders work?

The vault tracks renewal dates, payments and deadlines, and reminds you by email and in the app.

What if I forget my password?

You can reset it by email from the sign-in page. On phones, App lock can use your fingerprint, face or device PIN once you’re signed in.

Still have a question?

Akshaya means that which never diminishes.

When a family loses the person who kept everything organised, the grief is heavy enough without missing passwords, hidden documents and unknown financial obligations.

Families lose time, money and benefits because critical information sat in one person’s mind or on one device. The vault is there so that doesn’t have to happen to yours.
